Biography

German-born mezzo-soprano Eva Vogel graduated from Mannes College of Music in New York and Yale University. She became a member of the opera studio at Cologne Opera, before being engaged as a permanent soloist at Düsseldorf Opera as well as Innsbruck Opera. Eva Vogel sings at Staatsoper Berlin, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Concertgebow Amsterdam, Philharmonie Berlin, Musikverein Wien, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, among others. She sang various Wagner parts at Aix-en-Provence festival and the Salzburg Easter Festival. Recent engagements include Mahler´s Lied von der Erde in Hannover (NDR Radiophilharmonie, Andrew Manze), Berlioz’s Les nuits d’été at Musikverein Wien (Tonkünstler-Orchester, Ivor Bolton), Beethoven´s Missa solemnis in Torino (RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Juraj Valčuha), Mozart’s Requiem in Milano (John Axelrod), From the House of the Dead at Berlin State Opera (Sir Simon Rattle), Die Zauberflöte in Torino (Asher Fisch) as well as Das Rheingold and Die Walküre in Munich (Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sir Simon Rattle). Current engagements will bring her to Concerto Köln and the Dresdner Festspielorchester with Kent Nagano for Das Rheingold and Die Walküre at Dresdner Musikfestspiele and on tour to Köln, Amsterdam and Lucerne, to Sinfonie-orchester Basel and Duncan Ward for Huber’s Weißsagung und Erfüllung, to the Copenhagen Philharmonic and Toshiyuki Kamioka and the Belgrade Philharmonic with Daniel Raiskin for Lied von der Erde, the Warsaw Philharmonic with Andrey Boreyko for Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, to the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi with Claus Peter Flor for Mahler’s Second Symphony, for Verdi’s Requiem to the Bremen Philharmonic with Hansjörg Albrecht and for recitals to Klavierfestival Ruhr and Westfälisches Musikfestival Hamm.
