Eva Šeniglová


The soprano Eva Šeniglová is a graduate of the Conservatoire and the Faculty of Music of the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where she studied in the class of Professor Vlasta Hudcová. She has achieved great success at a host of singing competitions, among them the M. S. Trnavský and Karlovy Vary A. Dvořák international competitions. She won 2nd place and the “laureate” title at the W. A. Mozart competition in Prague and a bronze diploma from a residency in Siena at the Academia Musicale di Chigianna with the maestro G. Favaretto. For the 1985-86 season she was awarded a scholarship to work in the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava, between 1986 and 1990 she was a soloist of the Chamber Opera in Bratislava. In 1990 she returned to the Slovak National Theatre, this time as an opera soloist. She has appeared both with this ensemble and independently as an opera and concert singer in many European countries (Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Ukraine and others), as well as in the USA. At the present time, Eva Šeniglová also teaches at the Conservatoire in Bratislava. Her repertoire includes opera and operetta roles, among them Dona Elvira (Don Giovanni), the Countess (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Micaela (Carmen), Margarita (Faust and Margarita), Mimi (La Bohéme), Rusalka, Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) and Rosalinda in J. Strauss’ operetta Die Fledermaus.
