
Eduard Kácal

Eduard Kácal will make his debut at the National Theatre Opera in the 2025/26 season as the High Priest of Neptune (Mozart: Idomeneo). From 2018 to 2022, he studied at the Janáček Conservatoire in Ostrava under the guidance of MgA. Martin Gurbaľ, with whom he continues his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Ostrava. In 2023, he became the absolute winner and laureate of the International Singing Competition in Olomouc, and in 2024, he was awarded 2nd place and the Beno Blachut Prize at the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. He made his operatic debut at the Janáček Conservatoire in Ostrava in the role of the Gamekeeper (Dvořák: Rusalka), and in the 2022/2023 season, he debuted as Aeneas (Purcell: Dido and Aeneas) at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava. He later returned there to perform the roles of the Second Student (Haas: The Charlatan) and the Prince (Pauline Viardot: Cinderella). He has also appeared at the Leoš Janáček International Music Festival and the Les Musicales de Louvergny festival.
