Biography

Latvian bass Edgars Ošleja sang from 2008 to 2010 in Riga Commerce gymnasium’s mixed choir and in „New Riga Men’s Choir”. Later, he sang in a mixed youth choir „Pa Saulei”. In 2015 he debuted in the Latvian National Opera in Riga and started his studies at the Jazeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, from which he gratuated in June 2019. His repertoire consists of many arias and songs of various composers, such as Antonio Caldara, G. F. Händel, Verdi or Mozart. In Riga, he sings Reinmar von Zweter (Tannhäuser) and Keeper of the Madhouse (The Rake’s Progress) and is currently studying the role of Colline (La bohème).
