Biography

German soprano Dshamilja Kaiser makes her National Theatre Opera debut in 2020/21 season as Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde). Since the 2017/18 season, she has been a permanent ensemble member at the Theater Bonn. She celebrated great successes there as Carmen, Penthesilea in the eponymous opera by Othmar Schoeck, Ortrud (Lohengrin), Laura (La Gioconda) and Santuzza (Cavalleria rusticana). Dshamilja Kaiser has appeared at the Tiroler Festspiele Erl as the Foreign Princess (Dvořák: Rusalka), at the Oper Graz as Lisa (Weinberg: Die Passagierin), Adalgisa (Norma), Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde), Carmen and Kateřina (Martinů: The Greek Passion), at the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo and at the Oper Frankfurt as Adalgisa, at the Volksoper in Vienna as Carmen, and at the Bregenz Festival as Gertrude (Franco Faccio: Amleto), among many others. Born in Wuppertal, Dshamilja Kaiser studied at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold. Between 2009 and 2017 she was a member of the ensemble of Oper Graz. She is a recipient of the ‘Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis 2015’ in the category ‘best young female singer’.
