

Biography
The German soprano of Russian origin Diana Schnürpel makes her debut at the National Theatre Opera in November 2024 as the Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte). She graduated from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Leipzig in October 2010. She gained her first experience as a guest member of the MDR Radio Choir and at the Deutsches Nationaltheater and in July 2013 sang the role of the Bride in Igor Stravinsky's Les Noces at the Ruhr Piano Festival. She has won numerous competitions and is also a keen performer of songs. From 2016 to 2021, Diana Schnürpel was a member of the Theater Lucerne, where she appeared as Queen of the Night (Die Zauberflöte), Venus and Gepopo (Le Grande Macabre), Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice), Maria Stuarda, Bystrouška (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), among others. She has also guest-starred as the Queen of the Night at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Landestheater Detmold, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, Landestheater Salzburg, Graz Opera, Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, Staatstheater Cottbus, Bühnen Bern and Deutsche Oper Berlin.
