Daniel Malchar

Biography

Born in 1990. In 2013, he completed his studies at the Vocal and Acting Faculty of the PWST in Krakow. He also graduated from the State General Music School I and II degree in Bielsko-Biała, specializing in oboe. He works as an actor, vocalist, musician, and composer.

He debuted on stage in 2009 in the musical High School Musical at the Gliwice Music Theatre, and later performed at Teatr Rozrywki in Chorzów in the musicals Przebudzenie wiosny (Spring Awakening) and Our House. For his role in Our House, he was nominated for the "Golden Mask" artistic award in 2012. At the PWST Theatre in Krakow, he participated, for example, in the production The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, for which he composed the music.

Since the 2013/14 season, he has been a member of the ensemble at the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow, where he played, among other roles, the title role in the production Pinocchio.

In addition to theatre, he is actively involved in music; at the age of fifteen, he founded the vocal ensemble Freedom, with which he won several prestigious festival awards. He conducted choral concerts, such as J. F. Haendel's St John Passion and G. B. Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, performed by graduates of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Katowice. For his artistic activity, he was awarded the Creative Scholarship of the City of Krakow in the field of performing arts in 2016. In 2007, he received the Scholarship of the Mayor of Czechowice-Dziedzice for his achievements in culture and arts.

He also continues to collaborate with Teatr Stu, Teatr Łaźnia Nowa, and Teatr Barakah, for which he composes stage music, and he is also the author of music for short films.
