Daniel Luis de Vicente

Biography

The Spanish-American baritone Daniel Luis de Vicente made his National Theatre Opera debut in 2020/21 season in the title role of Rigoletto (the State Opera production). He studied at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Following his graduation, he moved to Italy, where in 2008 he launched his professional career as a tenor. Since 2010, he has portrayed baritone roles. During his time in Italy, he performed at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Teatro Mario Del Monaco in Treviso, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and Padua, the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, the Teatro Comunale in Ferrara and other venues. In the 2016/17 season, he debuted in Germany. In May 2018, he dazzled in the lead role in the German premiere of Manuel Penella’s opera El gato montés (The Wild Cat) at the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern. In the 2018/19 season, he made his debut in Austria, appearing at the Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck as Paolo Albiani in Simon Boccanegra. In the 2019/20 season, he returned to Innsbruck as Gianni Schicchi and Michele (Il tabarro), to Kaiserslautern as Giorgio Germont (La traviata), and he also portrayed Gianni Schicchi and Michele at the Hessisches Staatstheater in Wiesbaden. His repertoire also includes the roles of Monterone and Rigoletto (Rigoletto), Michonnet (Adriana Lecouvreur), Baron Douphol (La traviata), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Leporello (Don Giovanni)), Iago (Otella), Don Bartolo (Il barbiere di Siviglia), and other parts. Daniel Luis de Vicente currently lives in Germany.
