Biography

Christiane Libor, born in Berlin, studied at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin. She was a student of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Júlia Várady and Brigitte Fassbaender. Christiane Libor works internationally at major opera houses such as Zurich Opera, Washington Opera, Seattle Opera, Berlin State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Opéra Bastille in the youthful to dramatic soprano range. Especially the work of Richard Wagner determines her career. She has worked with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, New York Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic and with conductors such as Marc Minkowski, Antoni Wit, Kent Nagano, Sebastian Weigle, Marek Janowski, Jaap van Zweden, Simone Young, Ingo Metzmacher, Asher Fisch, Philippe Jordan, Cornelius Meister and Gustavo Dudamel. A great love connects her with the world of song and concert since her student days. Numerous CD productions document her work. Since 2011, Christiane Libor has held a professorship at the University of Music in Karlsruhe. Her graduates sing at renowned opera houses such as La Scala in Milan, Semperoper Dresden, Berlin State Opera and Deutsche Oper Berlin.
