Biography

Bryan Bennett is an Irish-American Bass-Baritone who has just received his BFA in Vocal Performance at Carnegie Mellon University under Professor Sari Gruber. He specializes in German repertoire, and recently spent seven weeks at Middlebury College in a language immersion program before traveling to Germany to perform. Recent operatic roles include Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Alfonso in Cosí fan tutte, and Le Fauteuil in L’enfant et les Sortilèges. In concert, he has most recently sung as the soloist in Nancy Galbraith’s Smoke and Steel with CMU Philharmonic and his senior recital which included works such as Vaughan Williams’ “Songs of Travel.” He is excited to be joining the University of Maryland Opera Studio in the fall for his Masters in Music where he will be studying under Kevin Short.
