Ben Strong
Biography
Ben Strong is an American Bass-Baritone singer and performer from western Pennsylvania. His education includes a Masters of Music from the prestigious Jacob’s School of Music at IU and a BFA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Most recently Ben has received an Encouragement Award in memory of Louis D'Angelo, sponsored by Robert Lombardo at the 52nd George & Nora London Foundation.
In the last year Strong made his Carnegie Hall debut on the 150 Years of Rachmaninoff Concert organized by the highly esteemed Constantine Orbelian. He was a semi finalist in the 2024 Eleanor McCollum Concert of Arias for Houston Grand Opera. In 2023 Strong competed at the central region for the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in Chicago. This is one of two awards from the Met Competition he’s received on separate occasions, the other being the Demareus N. Cooper Encouragement Award where he was the youngest competitor to receive an award in the Pittsburgh district by ten years. Ben has also received the 2nd place award as a top singer in the NATS National Council Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2018. Strong’s roles range from performances as Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre in Prague, Czechia and Leporello from Don Giovanni in Orvieto, Italy. As well as Sheriff in Highway One, Basilio in Il Barbiere di Seville, and Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte . Ben Strong has also performed concert solos in Dvorak’s Te Deum at the Rudolfinum, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass, Brahm’s Vier Ernste Gesänge, and Mozart’s Requiem.
