Annette Seiltgen

Biography

The mezzo-soprano Annette Seiltgen has been a member of Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 1996/1997 season. Her previous engagements included working for the theatre in Kassel and Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich. Annette Seiltgen has sung the roles of the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Brangäna (Tristan und Isolde), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung), Ramiro (La Finta Giardiniera), Adalgisa (Norma), Musa/Nicklas (Tales of Hoffmann), Frugola (Il tabarro) and Ruggiero (Alcina). In 1999 she made her debut at Teatro Real Madrid as Sextus (La clemenza di Tito). Other guest appearances have led her to Santiago de Chile, Nice and other places. She has also made recordings for the Bavarian and Hessen Radios. In the 2002/2003 season she performed at Amsterdam’s Dutch Opera and the famous Concertgebouw. In 2005 she is scheduled to debut in the new production of Der Ring des Nibelungen in Dortmund (directed by Christine Mielitz), where she will sing the role of Fricka.
