Biography

Anna Dostálová, a dramatic coloratura soprano, was born in Zborovice, Czech Republic. In 2018 she began her studies at the Conservatory of the Evangelical Academy in Olomouc under the guidance of MgA. Naďa Bláhová and Mgr. Marika Žáková. She successfully graduated in 2024 and was accepted to the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU), where she currently studies opera singing with Prof. Magdaléna Hajóssyová. She continuously expands her vocal skills through masterclasses led by both Czech and international opera artists (Markéta Cukrová, Franz Hawlata, Yvonne Steiner, Antonio Carangelo, Linda Watson, Naďa Bláhová, Rinaldo Alessandrini, and others). During her studies, she participated in several competitions. Among her most significant achievements is the 1st Prize in the “Opera Hope” category at the 56th International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary. Other awards include - Pro Bohemia International Singing Competition Ostrava (2022, 2023 – 2nd Prizes), Pražský pěvec (2022 – Honourable Mention; 2023 – 1st Prize), International Singing Competition ZUŠ Žerotín 2023 (2nd Prize and a concert with MDO Orchestra), Rudolf Petrák International Singing Competition Žilina (SK) 2024 (2nd Prize – Opera, 3rd Prize – Song), and others. In 2023 she received support from the Dagmar and Václav Havel Foundation VIZE 97, and in 2024 her artistic development was supported by the Leoš Janáček Foundation. In 2025 she performed the role of the young boy Miles in HAMU’s student production of Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, staged at the State Opera in Prague. Beyond her academic and institutional activities, she is active as a concert, opera, and operetta performer in the Czech Republic and abroad. Since 2024, she has portrayed the Queen of the Night on tour in Germany as part of a children’s production of The Magic Flute.
