Biography

The repertoire of the internationally renowned tenor Andreas Conrad ranges from Mozart to both roles of Mime and Loge in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen and Herod (Strauss: Salome) to Edmund in Reimann's Lear. He is at home on the great stages of the world. His most important international appearances include the Salzburg and Bayreuth Festivals, the Vienna State Opera, the Teatro Real Madrid, the Opéra National de Paris, Opera Australia, the MET New York and the Washington National Opera. In April 2024, he accepted an invitation from the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal for three concert performances of Stravinsky's Les noces under the baton of Kent Nagano. His first collaboration with Tarmo Peltokoski took place in July 2023 as part of a concert performance of Wagner's Siegfried at the Cesis Arts Festival (Riga), in which Andreas Conrad thrilled the audience as Mime. He has worked with great conductors such as Philippe Auguin, Asher Fisch, James Gaffigan, Pablo Heras-Casado, Philippe Jordan, Fabio Luisi, Susanna Mälkki, Kent Nagano, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Kirill Petrenko and Peter Ruzicka. Renowned directors such as Calixto Bieito, Vincent Boussard, Robert Carsen, Frank Castorf, Willy Decker, Dieter Dorn, Andreas Homoki, Andreas Kriegenburg, Christoph Marthaler, Hans Neuenfels and Chen Shi-Zheng appreciate his great acting and vocal charisma.
