Andrea Díaz
Biography
She was born in Panama City, the capital of Panama, where she received her dance education through her studies at Pointe Centro de Danza (2001-2013) and later Academia de Danza Steps (2013-2015). She started her professional career in 2016/2017 as a soloist of the National Ballet of Panama and in 2021/2022 she was appointed the first soloist.
She has won several awards. Let´s mention the gold medal in the category of Pas de Deux and bronze medal as an individual in Miami International Ballet Competition in the U.S.A. (2019), first place in the competition Danza Activa in Panama (2014), and she is a finalist in the International Ballet Competition in Orlando, the U.S.A. (2013). She participated in international dance festivals: José Ballet Festival v Costa Rica (2022) and Miami International Ballet Festival in the U.S.A.
Her repertoire includes many significant roles: Clara, Sugar Plum Fairy, Doll, Dewdrop and solo in The Nutcracker Chinese dance, Kitri, Mercedes, and Flower Fairy in Don Quixote, Aurora, Lilac and Brilliant Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, Swanilda in Coppélia in Vasily Medvedev´s choreography, Pas de Deux in Flower Festival in Genzano, a ballet by August Bornonville, a choreographer, Grand Pas de Deux and Pad de Trois in the ballet Paquita.
In 2022/2023 she joined the ballet ensemble of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre as a corps de ballet with soloist obligations.
