
Aidan O'Donnell
Biography
Bass-baritone Aidan O’Donnell is a passionate and animated performer whose love for storytelling is conveyed through his singing. Having completed a BMus degree majoring in classical voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (SCM), Aidan is currently in the 2nd year of the MMus Opera Performance degree at SCM under the tutelage of David Greco. Aidan’s opera expeince is ever expanding as he has performed the roles of ‘Snug’ in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with SCM and ‘The Sorcerer’ in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with St Paul’s College Sydney, and will also be performing ‘Sarastro’ in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte with Berlin Opera Academy and ‘Seneca’ in Monteverdi’s/Kats-Chernin’s L’incoronazione di Poppea with SCM later this year. Other organisations Aidan has worked with include the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, The Song Company and Castalia Vocal Consort as an artist. Aidan has been involved in masterclasses such as the ‘Melbourne International Festival for Lieder and Art Song’ in 2019, and competitions including the ‘Demant Dreikurs Song Competition’ where he was awarded as a finalist in 2020 and 2021. He has also been featured as one of the young stars of Australian Opera in the Carols in the Domain twice. Aidan is delighted to be a part of the ‘Prague Summer Nights’ program where he will perform the role of ‘Leporello’ in Mozart’s Don Giovanni.
