Biography

Born in 1981 in Târnăveni, Romania, tenor Adorján Pataki studied music at the Theological High School until 1999, then he studied singing at “Gherorghe Dima” Music Academy in Cluj with Marius Vlad. He furthered his training with Carmelo Corrado Caruso in Milan and Viorica Cortez in Paris. He has been prizewinner of several international competitions such as International “Traian Grozăvescu” Singing Contest Lugoj, Romania – Special prize of the Romanian Musical Performing Society (2006), International “Ionel Perlea” Lied Contest Slobozia, Romania – Special prize for the best chamber music interpretation (2009), and the International Operetta Singing Competition of Franz Lehár in Komárno, Slovakia – Special Prize and Duna Television Prize (2010). Since October 2005 he has been soloist of the Hungarian Opera in Cluj-Napoca. He has guest appeared at the Romanian National Opera Timişoara, the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca, the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, and cooperated with many orchestras in Romania as well as with the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also performed in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Spain and Norway, and is regular guest at the “Bartók +” Opera Festival in Miskolc, Hungary.
