Biography

Bass Adam Palka makes his National Theatre Opera debut in 2023/24 season in the title role of Boito’s Mefistofele (State Opera production). Born in Poland, Adam Palka studied at the Gdansk Academy of Music and the Zurich Opera Studio. In 2005 he joined the Baltic Opera’s company, from 2010 to 2013, he was a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, since the 2013/14 season, he has been a member of the Stuttgart Staatsoper. Adam Palka has been performing on many prestigious opera stages in the roles such as Boris (Boris Godunov) at Teatro alla Scala, Méphistophélès (Faust) in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Wiener Staatsoper and Grand Théâtre de Genève, Commendatore (Don Giovanni) and Timur (Turandot) at the Royal Opera House, Timur (Turandot) at Teatro Real Madrid, Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Skula (Prince Igor) with Opéra national de Paris, Colline (La bohème) and Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at Bayerische Staatsoper and Teatro Real Madrid, among many others. His current season 2023/24 sees him as Filippo II (Don Carlo), Boito’s Mefistofele and Oroveso (Norma) at Staatsoper Stuttgart, Méphistophélès (Faust) with Canadian Opera Company, Timur (Turandot) and Gremin (Eugene Onegin) at Gran Teatre del Liceu, Méphistophélès (Faust), Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Vodník (Rusalka) at Wiener Staatsoper, and others.
