Theatre Green Book: National Theatre obtained intermediate level certificate
2/12/2025
In the case of the National Theatre, efforts to achieve the most sustainable operation possible are not just empty promises. In November, Martin Kukučka, artistic director of the National Theatre Drama, received an intermediate (i.e., advanced) certificate at the European Theatre Convention (ETC) conference in Riga, awarded by the international initiative Theatre Green Book.
This initiative provides theaters with tools to achieve climate neutrality in the areas of productions, operations (catering, logistics, and travel), and buildings, with the National Theater receiving recognition for the latter. This success follows on from our previous involvement in this initiative. In July 2024, we received a certificate for achieving the basic level at the Avignon Festival, and earlier that year, the drama production One More Minute was selected for a case study on the application of sustainable principles.
