The first soloist of the Czech National Ballet Alina Nanu won the Thalia prize!

Alina was born in Moldova and graduated from the Dance Conservatory in Prague. The twenty nine year old dancer won the most prestigious Czech professional theatre award.

On Saturday October 5th the winners of the 26th annual Thalia award were announced. In the category of Dance and Theatre of Movement Alina Nanu was the winner. The first soloist of the Czech National Ballet was awarded the prize for her exceptional artistic achievement in the role of Lise in the classical production of La Fille mal gardée, a comical ballet choreographed by sir Frederick Ashton.

During the evening ceremony in the National Theatre Alina Nanu expressed her gratitude:
“Good evening. I would like to thank the Actors’ Association for this beautiful prize and also to our artistic director Filip Barankiewicz for bringing such a great production on our repertoire. I thank my colleagues, ballet masters, assistants and all who got involved in any way. Above all I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting me and keeping their fingers crossed. Thank you very much!”
