The Czech National Ballet welcomed honorable foreign visit
President of the Republic of Moldova, Mrs. Maia Sandu, visited performance of Romeo and Juliet
On 5 October, Mrs. Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, visited the Czech National Ballet’s performance of Romeo and Juliet. She and Mr. Alexandru Codreanu, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Czech Republic, met with the company’s Moldovan dancers: the first soloists Alina Nanu and Irina Burduja, and the demi-soloist Veaceslav Burlac.
We live in difficult, turbulent times. In a remarkable and charming way, President Sandu voiced support for her compatriots and highlighted their talent. She also expressed her respect for the arts, as well as the values we share, values that make our world more cultivated, better and more beautiful.
We hope that President Sandu found our company’s performance artistically inspiring and emotionally positive.
We would be delighted to see the President of Moldova at the National Theatre again.
