The time of crisis gives pause for thought and reflection. Usually we are too busy chasing stuff we think will make us happy and successful rather than finding time to enjoy those things that matter most: connection, community and contribution.
The need for unifying community spirit is now greater than it has ever been, so perhaps the virus has had the unintended positive effect of making us restart, sit up and take notice; to connect more genuinely with the people around us and focus on being generous, kind and compassionate.

Until recently, we could offer you our art, communicate emotions and reap the joy of common experiences. Yet even when speaking of abstract values, we are artists, dancers with stamina and talent, creators with our own visions and ideals, musicians with a harmonic soul… Perhaps dreamers, somewhat odd, but above all people ardently loving theatre: passionate, fiery…
Until recently, we danced for you. Fleshing out the conceptions of choreographers: Kylián, Spuck, Bigonzetti, Cranko, among others. Reaching the limits of our physical and psychological faculties – transforming you and ourselves. Touching eternity…
Now – silenced – we are waiting… We are getting ready, believing that the curtain will rise again and we, artists on the stage, and you, audience in the auditorium, will again be able to enjoy exceptional moments together…

Let us be courageous and hopeful. We will dance through it…

At this moment, Covid-19 applies to all of us.
Currently, when people on our planet are often separated by the quarantine, it is good to remember that in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons we performed 6 premiere productions and gave 127+81  shows for 95154+67819 viewers, appeared on stages of 3 continents, collaborated with more than 20 choreographers and other artists of more than 14 nationalities…
The Czech National Ballet is made up of 82 dancers from all over the globe.

Now the real world is cold and we need to heat it up with a dream dance world… #dancethroughit
