La clemenza di Tito conducted by Marc Minkowski

27/4/2018

Opera

Marc Minkowski, the most prominent contemporary Mozart conductor, will be performing La clemenza di Tito in Prague.

The opera was premiered at the Estates Theatre during the festivities marking the coronation in Prague of Leopold II as King of Bohemia. Its most recent Prague production was staged here between 2006 and 2010.  Now Mozart’s opera will again be heard at the Estates Theatre, in a concert version, under the baton of the famed French conductor. The lead roles have been assigned to globally renowned young singers. Besides the noted Czech bass Jan Šťáva, who will perform as Publio, the cast also includes the Norwegian tenor Bror Magnus Tødenes, who will portray Tito, the Latvian soprano Inga Kalna, who will appear in the part of Vitellia, the French singers Ambroisine Bré and Lea Desandre, and the Czech soprano Markéta Böhmová.

Make sure not to miss this truly extraordinary event!

Only two performances: 10 and 11 May at the Estates Theatre! More information HERE
