The Czech National Ballet commemorates this occasion in collaboration with the Czech Television.

Jiří Kylián, a renowned world choreographer, celebrates his 75th birthday on March 21, 2022.

Jiří Kylián is one of the most famous Czechs and a holder of one of the highest awards in the field of art. He was officially granted membership in the prestigious French Academy of Fine Arts at a ceremony on March 13, 2019 in Paris. Jiří Kylián is the first creator in the world to receive this important award – in his honour the academy has decided to open a new category: Choreography.

On the occasion of Jiří Kyliánʼs birthday, the Czech National Ballet, together with the Czech Television, will present a rerun of the live broadcast of the premiere of the production Kylián – Bridges of Time from the historic building of the National Theater on March 21 on ČT art at 8.15 pm. In addition, we will offer the documentary Jeden rok v životě choreografa Jiřího Kyliána (One Year in the Life of Choreographer Jiří Kylián) for free viewing from March 21 to March 27 on the official YouTube channel of the Czech National Ballet.
