Based on an internal evaluation of Per Boy Hansen’s work to date and the opinions of the invited experts such are Jiří Heřman, Artistic Director of the National Theatre Opera Brno, Sussane Moser, Director of the Association of Opera Houses of the German Speaking Countries, and Nicholas Payne, Director Emeritus of Opera Europa and the Royal Opera House in London), Jan Burian (Director General of the National Theatre) decided to extend the term of office of Per Boye Hansen, Artistic Director of the National Theatre Opera and the State Opera, until 31 July 2028.

This decision is also due to mutual agreement and based on the specific artistic plans presented, which continuously build on the existing priorities and achievements of the development of the opera companies.

"We particularly appreciate the transformation of the soloist ensemble, including the engagement of a number of young and promising talented singers, and the ability to create a broadly aesthetic opera repertoire under the guidance of experienced renowned, as well as young and promising directors. We appreciate the realisation of the visionary project Musica non grata, whose relevance is even more evident today," said Jan Burian, Director General of the National Theatre.
