Our dancers represent the company at prestigious ballet events – they performed in Seoul and Dubai

It is becoming a rule that members of the Czech National Ballet are invited as special guests to participate in prestigious dance shows or ballet galas organized in different parts of the world.

In October this year, our first soloist Aya Okumura performed as part of the World Ballet Stars Gala in Seoul. The event was sponsored by the Korean Ballet Association and the gala was held at the National Theatre of South Korea. Together with Dutch National Ballet principal dancer Constantine Allen, she danced David Dawson's duet On the Nature of Daylight and the central Pas de deux from the ballet Coppélia.

In November, the company's principal dancers, Irina Burduja and Paul Irmatov, performed as part of a program celebrating legendary dancer Rudolf Nureyev at the Dubai Opera. They presented a balcony scene from John Cranko's legendary ballet Romeo and Juliet to an audience in the United Arab Emirates, accompanied by the Birmingham Royal Orchestra.

Congratulations to our wonderful artists and thank you for making the Czech National Ballet's name a part of such extraordinary world events.
