Change in the cast in the performance of the opera Carmen on 21 April 2018
We regret to inform you of a change in the cast in the performance of the opera Carmen on 21 April 2018. Owing to his having fallen ill, the Czech tenor Pavel Černoch will not be able to appear that evening.
Don José will be portrayed by the Italian tenor Luciano Mastro, who has regularly performed at renowned European opera houses, including the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Teatr Wielki in Warsaw (Tutino: Senso), the Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Puccini: Madama Butterfly), the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava (Puccini: Manon Lescaut, Bizet: Carmen, Verdi: La traviata).
The title role of Carmen will be sung by the superlative Slovak mezzo-soprano Jana Kurucová, who since the 2009/10 season has been a member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, performing as Rosina, Cherubino, Hänsel (Humperdinck: Hänsel und Gretel), Fenena (Verdi: Nabucco), Antonia (D’Albert: Tiefland), the Second Lady (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte) and Mélisande (Debussy: Pelléas et Mélisande).
If requested, we will refund your tickets in full.
