Vladimír Doležal

Vladimír Doležal graduated from the Prague Conservatoire with Miluše Dvořáková, later he honed his technique with Karel Berman. Already during his studies he became a member of the Prague Madrigalists, with whom he visited whole Europe and America (attended festivals in Paris, Madrid, Belgrade, Luzern, Salzburg, Milan, Berlin, and others). In 1983 he graduated from vocal courses in Siena, Italy and in 1988 from Bach Academy in Stuttgart. In the same year he accepted an engagement in the National Theatre opera ensemble where he has studied many roles from Czech and international repertoire. At present, he performs here as Dancairo (Bizet: Carmen), Basilio (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro), Benda (Dvořák: The Jacobin), Principal (Smetana: The Bartered Bride) and others. His repertoire also includes the Prince (Dvořák: Rusalka), Florestan (Beethoven: Fidelio), Canio (Leoncavallo: Pagliacci), Mozart’s Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Ferrando (Così fan tutte) a Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Young Sailor (Wagner: Tristan und Isolde), Laca (Janáček: Jenůfa), Panait (Martinů: The Greek Passion) and others. In his rich concert activities, home as well as abroad (Paris, Seville, Bonn, Milan, Brussels, etc.), he concentrates on oratorio and chamber music. His broad discography consists of nearly forty titles, especially works by A. Rejcha, W. A. Mozart, F. Schubert, B. Martinů. He has cooperated with notedly world-famous conductors such as Václav Neumann, Zdeněk Košler, Jiří Bělohlávek, Sir Charles Mackerras, Sir Colin Davis, Aldo Ceccato, Helmuth Rilling, Jiří Kout, etc.
