Biography

Steffi Lehmann graduated from Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig. In 2008, she won the singing competition of the Deutsche Mozartgesellschaft, and in 2009, she received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association for the Bayreuth Festival. After completing her studies, she made her first engagement at the Theater Bremen. With her much acclaimed debut as Dora in the performance of Franz Hummel's opera Bluebeard, Steffi Lehmann has been highly praised in the press (e.g. Opernglas, Opernwelt) and has been a welcome guest for performances of contemporary works worldwide ever since. In 2013, she moved to the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, where she created Blonde (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Sophie (Werther), Musetta (La bohème), Yvonne (Jonny spielt auf), and Young woman in the premiere of Sven Helbig’s Vom Lärm der Welt. Since 2017 she has been working as a freelance opera and concert singer. She is now a regular guest at the leading opera houses and concert halls in Germany and abroad with important roles in her field, including in the 2018/19 season the roles of Adele (The Bat) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) at the Theater Bremen and Adele in the Theater Chemnitz.
