Biography

Liana Aleksanyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia, and started her musical career at the age of nine with piano lessons at the Mirzoyan Music School. At 16 years she became a voice student at the S. Danielyan Academy, where as a member of the opera studio she also appeared in minor roles. She continued her voice studies at the Conservatory in Yerevan, completing her degree with distinction. She participated in master classes given by Dante Mazzola at La Scala, Milan. In 2007, she was a finalist in Dresden in the Competizione dell’ opera and in Vienna at the Belvedere Singing Competition, furthermore she won the 3rd prize in the Concours International de Chant in Toulouse. Ms. Aleksanyan made her first stage experiences as Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at Opéra de Bauge, Festival in France, as Manon Lescaut (Manon Lescaut) at the opera in Oslo, at Landestheater Linz, as the Countess (Nozze di Figaro) and at Volksoper Vienna and as Violetta (La traviata), Gilda (Rigoletto) and Mimi (La Bohéme) in Braunschweig. She was engaged as a member of the ensemble in Braunschweig and Essen, where has could be heard as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Gilda, Micaela (Carmen), Amelia (Simone Boccanegra), the Countess, Donna Anna, Fiordiligi, Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Violetta and Antonia (Hoffmann’s Tales). Guest contracts brought her to Komische Oper Berlin as Violetta, Mimi and Antonia, to Cologne as Mimi, to Braunschweig as Luisa Miller (Luisa Miller), to Hamburg as Gilda and Violetta and to Stuttgart as Luisa Miller. Last contracts until 2019 include Antonia, Donna Anna (Masnadieri), Micaela and Violetta in Essen, Violetta and Micaela, Blanche (Dialogues des Carmelites) in Hamburg, Donna Anna in Düsseldorf, Violetta in Berlin, Elvira (Ernani), Bruckner’s “Te Deum”, Verdi’s “Requiem” and Violetta in Braunschweig, Violetta in Bern and at Komische Oper Berlin, Iolanta (Iolanta) at Gärtnerplatztheater in Munich, Verdi’s Requiem in Moscow, Butterfly (Madama Butterfly) in Buenos Aires, Cologne, Klagenfurt, Mannheim, Seoul, Düsseldorf, Scala Milano, Valencia, Hamburg and Aida (Aida) in Macerata. In 2019, she will sing Amelia in Bari, and Butterfly in Florence, Trieste, and Düsseldorf.
