Biography
Graduated from the Prague Academy of Performing Arts with professor Teodor Šrubař, and developed his vocal technique with professor Logačevová. He was the National Theatre opera soloist between 1985 and 2004. During his performing in Czech opera houses (Ostrava, Liberec, Prague), he studied more than one hundred roles in Czech (Smetana, Dvořák, Janáček, Martinů) and world operas (Händel, Mozart, Beethoven, Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Massenet, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini). His concert activities were also extensive (oratorios and cantatas – Bach, Mozart, Dvořák; lyrical recitals – Smetana, Dvořák, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and others). He cooperated with radio (recording of Ilja Hurník’s opera Lady and Robbers), television and recording companies. He participated in National Theatre’s tours of Austria, France, Germany, Greece and Japan.
