Jan finished his acting studies at Janáčkova’s academy of performing arts in Brno in 1995 with a role Dodu in Weingart’s play „Alice in the gardens of Luxembourg“. Between 1995 - 1997 he played in the National Theatre Brno (drama „Storm“), in HaDivadlo („The confusions of young Törlesse“) and also at the Archa Theatre in Prague („Sweet Theresienstadt“). In the following years (1997-2004) he was engaged in Drama studio in Ústí nad Labem (roles Voynitze in „Platonov“, Robbie in „Shopping and fucking“, Seva in „Ju“ and many more). For the following two seasons (2004 - 2006) he was a member of the Prague Rococo Theatre company. National theatre engaged him in September 2006. His most important characters here are e.g. Hatcher in Williams' „Sweet Bird of Youth“, suitor in Shakespeare and Fletcher’s play „Two noble kinsmen“, Matthias in Brecht and Weill’s „Threepenny Opera“. and the role named Nr.0 - lieutenant, an anthropologist at Jan Vedral’s play „Old directors“. In the current repertoire, played on the stage of National Theatre he’s performing the role of Silvio in Goldoni's „Servant of Two Masters“, Marquis of Dorset in Shakespeare's „Richard III.“, Albert Gregor in „The Makropulos Affair“ and many other roles from drama to comedies. He played in several films and television shows, sometimes he’s hosting in other theaters.
