Mozart’s Birthday 2020
Basic information
The Estates Theatre
For the very first time in the 11-year history of Mozart’s Birthday evenings, this year the traditional concert will not involve an orchestra and a conductor. Neither will you hear opera arias, celebrated symphonies or concertos. But we invite you to visit the Mozarts at home – you will hear and see what it is like when Wolfgang and Constanze cannot find a hat ribbon, what present the 20-year-old Wolfgang gives to his sister Nannerl for her name-day, and you will also hear a few Mozart songs, abounding in musical beauty, tenderness, languor, as well as humour.

About
The concert will culminate in a performance of the Serenade in B flat major, the “Gran Partita”, which was famously featured in Miloš Forman’s film Amadeus – do you remember Salieri’s first encounter with Mozart’s music?
This year, the main well-wishers on the Maestro’s birthday will be soloists of the National Theatre Opera and eminent players of the National Theatre Orchestra. Zdeněk Klauda, piano Members of the National Theatre Orchestra Soloists and members of the National Teatre Orchestra Alexej Rosík, concertmaster Vratislav Vlna, solo oboe.
We believe that the concert will make you feel at home with the Mozarts.
