Biography

Robert Jerjen was born in Chur, Switzerland, and grew up in his home country, the United States, and Panamá. He began his performing arts journey in musical theatre, appearing in various productions in Panamá. Among his early roles were Charlie in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and young Tarzan in Tarzan – The Musical, for which he received the Best Child Actor award in 2012.

In 2018, after graduating from the Zurich Dance Academy (Tanz Akademie Zürich – taZ), Robert moved to Amsterdam to continue his training at the European School of Ballet. In 2019, he joined the Czech National Ballet in Prague.

Since joining the company, Robert has performed a broad range of roles, including Lensky in Onegin (John Cranko), the Prince and the Devil in The Nutcracker – A Christmas Story (Youri Vàmos), Michael in The Second Detail (William Forsythe), Blue Bird in The Sleeping Beauty (Márcia Haydée), Benvolio and Paris in Romeo and Juliet (John Cranko), Benno in Swan Lake (John Cranko), and Gurn in La Sylphide (Johan Kobborg). He has also appeared in L’Histoire de Manon (Kenneth MacMillan), Cinderella (Jean-Christophe Maillot), Kafka: The Trial (Mauro Bigonzetti), and Bohemian Gravity (Yemi A.D.).

His contemporary repertoire includes works by Jiří Kylián (Petite MortKylián – Bridges of Time), Wayne McGregor (EDEN | EDEN), Edward Clug (HandmanForsythe / Clug / McGregor), Marco Goecke (Fly Paper Bird), Hans van Manen (Frank Bridge Variations), and Eyal Dadon (Katastrof (Sarkasmy) and Artzabpm).

In addition to his dance career, Robert is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management at university.
