Ondřej Novotný

Biography

Ondřej Novotný is a playwright, dramaturg, teacher, and the frontman of the music band Vyčůrat a spát. He studied playwrighting and screenwriting at the Jaroslav Ježek Academy and then theatre dramaturgy at the JAMU Theatre Faculty.

Since March 2015, he has worked as a dramaturg and playwright for Theatre X10. He also wrote plays for a number of Czech theatres (Husa na provázku, HaDivadlo, Klicpera Theatre, A studio Rubín, NoD, Studio Hrdinů) and Czech Radio.

His latest dramas include The Collapse (Kolaps), A Series of Accidental Acts (Série bezdůvodných aktů) and A Mobile (Mobil). In 2009, he joined the artistic group D’epog, from which he separated together with the creative team Masakr Elsinor in 2014.
