Oliver Haller
Biography
Born in Flensburg, Germany, Oliver Haller studied costume and fashion design at the Charles Montaigne Fashion Academy in Amsterdam and scenography at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. After completing his studies, he worked on Joop van den Ende’s musicals, later as an assistant designer for the Salzburg Festival, the opera director Peter Sellars, and the Dutch National Opera. Since May 2003, he has headed the costume department at the Dutch National Ballet (Het Nationale Ballet). He also works as a freelance costume designer. He has collaborated with renowned choreographers, including Krzysztof Pastor (Moving Rooms, Scheherazade and Dumbarton Dances), Ted Brandsen (Body), and Juanjo Arques (Minos, Consequence, Blink, Homo Ludens, Transcription of Colour for Moscow Ballet, 2018). Over the past decade, he has provided designs for a large number of ballets by various choreographers for the Junior Company at the Dutch National Ballet. He was one of the founding fathers of the Dutch academy of tailoring (Meesteropleiding Coupeur) and sat on the board of advisors until 2023.
