Oldřich Kříž
Soloist of the OperaBiography
Oldřich Kříž graduated from the Prague Conservatoire. In 1994, he became a soloist at the Prague State Opera, where his first significant success was Poet (Turk in Italy). His other roles here included Figaro, Taddeo, Guglielmo, Ping, Sharpless, Belcore, Valentin, Dr. Falke, Germont and William (The Fall of the House of Usher). At the National Theatre, he performed at the world premiere of Emil Viklický's opera Mácha's Diary and, in collaboration with the Forman brothers, he created the role of Ludovic in the world stage premiere of Glass's Beauty and the Beast. He also created a number of operetta and musical roles at the Karlín Music Theatre. In addition to Czech stages, he also performed abroad: in Germany (Zwickau, Görlitz), Ireland (Ireland Opera Dublin) and France (Montpellier, Nantes). He is also involved in opera and musical directing.
