Italian tenor Matteo Desole made his National Theatre Opera debut on 7 February 2020 in the role of Alfredo (La traviata, State opera production). Desole (b. 1989 in Sassari) studied singing with Raina Kabaivanska in Modena and often cooperates with Fondazione Luciano Pavarotti in Modena. He has sung Malcolm in Macbeth (Teatro Comunale di Bologna), Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Cagliari), Alfredo in La traviata (Rome Opera, Tiroler Festpiele in Erl, Teatro La Fenice in Verona), Rodolfo in La bohème (Erl, Teatro Petruzelli in Bari, Teatro Comunale di Modena), Alfredo and the Duke in Rigoletto (the Opera Holland Park, London), Don Riccardo in Ernani and Rolla in I Masnadieri (La Scala, Milan), Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi (Modena, Ferrara), among many others.
