Biography

Juraj Hollý has studied on conservatory and on Academy of music in Bratislava (Slovakia), by Mgr. Art. Gurgen Ovsepian. In October 2010 Juraj debuted in Vienna Chamber Opera (Wiener Kammeroper) as Gernando in Haydn’s opera L’isola disabitata. In March 2011 debuted in Ostrava as Bardolfo (Falstaff by G. Verdi). In June 2011 sang on the European Heritage Awards ceremony as Don Sanchez (F. Liszt – Don Sanchez) under the auspices of Placido Domingo. In August joined Juraj the project Pierre de Medicis by J. Poniatowski as Paolo Monti on Festival of Polnish music in Krakow, Poland. From November 2011 acts as a guest in The State Theater Košice and in The State Opera Banska Bystrica (Slovakia). From September 2012 joined Juraj Hollý the opera studio on Cologne, Germany.  Among the most competitive awards includes the 1.st price on International Antonín Dvořák singing competition in Karlovy Vary, Czech republic (2009); the special price on Hans Gabor BELVEDERE competition in Wien (2010); in 2010 he also became the finalist on the International Pietro Antonio Cesti baroque opera competition in Innsbruck and also won 1.st price on Ad Honorem Mozart competition in Prague. Juraj Hollý sang solo part in Mozart’s Requiem in Germany, Japan and Singapur. From the December 2009 works with ensemble for the old music Musica Aeterna chaired by P. Zajíček. In 2010 took the part of J. N. Hummel’s Crossing the red sea (Der Durchzug durchs Rote Meer) as the Angel of death.
