Ekaterina Krovateva

Biography

Lyric soprano Ekaterina Krovateva made her debut at the National Theatre Opera in Prague as the First Wood Sprite in Antonín Dvořák's Rusalka (State Opera, 2 March 2023).
She was born in the Siberian city of Novokuznetsk, Russia. She has participated in many international competitions, festivals and recitals. She won the 1st prize in the Junior category at the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary, the 2nd prize at the Schneider-Trnavský International Competition (Trnava, Slovakia) and the Audience Award at the "Spazio Musica" Young Singers Competition (Orvieto, Italy). Ekaterina studies at the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno in the class of Natalia Romanova-Achaladze. She performed at the Chamber Opera HF JAMU in November 2021 in the role of Miss Wordsworth in Benjamin Britten's Albert Herring and as Blanche de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites by Francis Poulenc. At the National Theatre Brno she appeared as Esmeralda in Bedřich Smetana's The Bartered Bride.
