Ingo Krügler
Biography
Ingo Krügler studied costume design and fashion in Berlin and London (Central Saint Martin College of Art and Design). He worked at Jean-Paul Gaultier and John Galliano in Paris. He was an assistant on several productions of Michael Haneke, as well as Robert Carsen, David Alden, David Pountney, Thomas Langhoff, Gottfried Pilz and Stefan Herheim in Vienna, Paris, at the Munich and Salzburg Festivals. He designed the costumes of numerous theatre performances directed by Tim Kramer (Nora, The Merry Wives of Windsor, The Comedy of errors, Hamlet) and of musicals directed by Joseph E. Köpplinger (Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Blood Brothers, The Rocky Horror Picture Show). He regularly works with Calixto Bieito since their collaboration on Jenůfa at the Stuttgart Staatsoper (2008): Brand (Ibsen) in Oslo, Lulu, From the House of the Dead and Othello at the Basel Theatre, Armida, Der Freischütz, Bluebeard’s Castle, Gianni Schicchi, Dialogues of the Carmelites, Die Gezeichneten at the Berlin Komische Oper, Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at the Flemish Opera and in Graz, Die Soldaten, The Fiery Angel, The Coronation of Poppaea in Zurich, The Hoffmann’s Tales in Oslo, Tannhäuser and Lady Macbeth of the Mtsensk District in Antwerp, Turandot and The Trojans in Nuremberg, The Power of Fate at the English National Opera, Fidelio, Boris Godunov and La Juive at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Voices by Stemmers at the Bergen Festival, St John Passion in Bilbao, Don Giovanni in Bern, Lear and Simon Boccanegra at the Paris Opera, Moses and Aaron and Le Grand Macabre in Dresden, Elias at the Theater an der Wien, Hèctor Parra’s The Kindly Ones at the Flemish Opera. He also designed costumes for several productions of Elisabeth Stöppler (Werther in Oldenburg, Faust à Mainz, Medea in Heilbronn).
