Giovanna Lorenzoni
Biography
After graduating from the Rome Academy of Dance, in 1983 she joined the London Festival Ballet (today English National Ballet). She gained experience of the classical repertoáre and danced in choreographies by G. Balanchine, C. Bruce and M. Clark. At the Europa Ballet she worked with M. Béjart, J. Donn and K. Haigen. She subsequently joined Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, where she familiarised herself with Russian ballet and the work of many guest choreographers. In 1995 she became the assistant to Jean-Christophe Maillot, whom she had met at the Europa Ballet. Since then she has participated in all his productions and performances all over the world.
