Ewa Vesin

Biography

Born in Lublin, Poland, Ewa Vesin makes her National Theatre Opera debut in 2020/21 season as Aida. She started her singing career when still a student, with a debut in Die Zauberflöte at the Wrocław Opera (2003). She studied singing at the Academy of Music in Krakow and Wrocław, and has taught singing at the latter since 2010. Between 2003 and 2012, she was a soloist of the Wrocław Opera, and between 2013 and 2014 of the Grand Theatre in Łódź. She collaborates with the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Grand Theatre in Łódź, Kraków Opera, Silesian Opera in Bytom, Podlaska Opera in Białystok, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Warsaw, National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsaw, and the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Beijing, with which she performed in Krzysztof Penderecki’s Symphony No. 8, conducted by Maestro Penderecki himself. Recent & upocoming engagements: debuts at the Opera Australia Sydney (Tosca), the State opera Prague (Aida) and return to Opera di Roma (Turandot), and to the Polish National Opera with the title roles of Moniuszko’s Halka and Tosca. In November 2021, she will debut at the Ópera Nacional de Chile Santiago (Maddalena di Coigny, Andrea Chénier). Other engagements: Italian debut as Renata (The Fiery Angel, May 2019) at the Opera di Roma, Halka for Theater an der Wien, Halka, Tosca, Halka and Turandot at the Polish National Opera Warsaw, and Turandot at the Opera Podlaska.
