Biography

After completing her piano, voice and conducting studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, in 2002 Anna Princeva moved to Italy. At the Pergolesi Conservatory she fully devoted to voice studies, graduating in 2007. She also attended master classes, including those given by Francisco Araiza and Grace Bumbra. Subsequently, in addition to performances in Italian cities, she also appeared in St. Petersburg and Bangkok. After debuting as Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata, she portrayed Gilda in Rigoletto and Pia in Donizetti’s opera Pia de' Tolomei in Rovigo and Vicenza. In 2008 she attended master classes guided by Gustav Kuhn at his Accademia di Montegral and in July of the same year she first performed at the Tiroler Festspielen Erl, in Mahler’s Symphony No. 8. Other concerts and roles ensued, including Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and regular appearances at the Tiroler Festspielen under Gustav Kuhn. She sang Desdemona in Rossini’s Otello at the Festspielen Südtirol, in March 2012 she dazzled in the Wedding Cantata at the World Bach Festival in Florence. Within the celebrations marking the opening the new Festspielhaus in Erl in January 2013 she performed as Abigail in Verdi’s Nabucco in the summer as Leonora in Il trovatore. Mozart’s Donna Anna is her Prague debut.
