Jana Vrabcová has passed away

Ballet

It is with deep regret that we have parted with Jana Vrabcová, who on 31 March died after a long illness. She worked at the National Theatre for more than 12 years as an accompanist, as well as stage manager in charge of lighting. The mother of three daughters, she was a beautiful, gentle person, gracious, artistic, inspiring. We all remember how she taught us to love and savour every single tone of music, and theatre itself. Jana was also an excellent, passionate tennis player, and she regularly hardened her body and soul in the river Vltava.

An extraordinary personality, we will never forget her red lipstick, flared dresses, high-heeled shoes and the Vespa scooter, on which she arrived at work every day. We were really fond of her! Jana will remain someone to remind us that life must be lived at full speed and with grace – just as she did.

We dedicate to Jana Vrabcová a bpm performance on 4 April at the National Theatre.
