We made a music video for the song “A Mortal Man is Nothing”

For the New Year, we made and published a music video for the play Oedipus Rex, entitled “A Moral Man is Nothing”.

David Prachař – joined by Mikuláš Čížek, Filip Kaňkovský, Václav Marhold, Jiří Pěkný and Petr Vančura in chorales – signs the text of the Sophocles’ play, translated into Czech by Matyáš Havrda and set to music by Jakub Kudláč. This is a metaphor of the past months affected by the pandemics, but also a prophecy for the months to come. The ancient Sophocles’ words are incredibly topical and apt for our times: “Human happiness is a mere illusion. It shines, surprises everyone – and falls into disillusion and nothingness.”
