Timeless – the first soloist Michal Štípa on the National Theatre stage for the last time
29/1/2019
On Saturday February 2 at 7 pm we will stop the time to say goodbye to one of the most prominent figures of the Czech National Ballet, the long-time first soloist and “danseur noble” Michal Štípa.
Michal Štípa is leaving his prestigious post at the National Theatre but will stay in the world of professional dance. In January 2019 he becomes the artistic director of the Moravian Theatre ballet in Olomouc.
The early February production of Timeless is the last opportunity to see Michal Štípa dancing with the Czech National Ballet. He will part with his artistic career as ballet dancer on Friday February 1 and Saturday February 2 at 7 pm. His ballet partner of many years, the first soloist Nikola Márová, will dance by his side in Le sacre du printemps (Timeless).
“Dear audience, dear ballet lovers. I would like to invite you to my last performance on the stage of the National Theatre. I experienced beautiful times here and you were part of it. Let me thank you for your loyalty and praise – you supported me for many years. I will be pleased if you spend these last moments with me and the Czech National Ballet. Sincerely, Michal Štípa”
Come and say goodbye to Michal Štípa. There will be autograph signings accompanying the performances as well as a lecture for public.
