The NT Drama offers a residency for emerging theatre artists

12/10/2021

Drama

Thanks to the membership in the European Theatre Convention, the National Theatre Drama has become one of six European stages that will offer an artist residency in 2022 for emerging theatre artists (particularly stage directors and dramaturges).

In addition to the National Theatre Prague, the Cyprus Theatre Organization (Cyprus), the Slovak National Drama Theatre in Bratislava, the Kyiv National Academic "Molodyy" Theatre (Ukraine), the Austrian Schauspielhaus in Graz and the National Theatre Belgrade (Serbia) joined this residency programme. Their doors are also open to applicants from the Czech Republic.

The National Theatre Drama offers the applicants the position of an Assistant Director in Petra Tejnorová's upcoming production The People versus Kramer and the opportunity to participate in the rehearsal process at the Estates Theatre from January 24 to March 6, 2022.

As the upcoming production will be bilingual, the creative team would especially appreciate a German-speaking scholar who will be able to help them with texts and research in German language. Interest in documentary and devised theatre or live cinema is welcome. No previous experience required.

Deadline to apply: November 5, 2021

Language requirements:

German (B2+/C1, advanced – able to read and write in German), English (B2/C1, intermediate/advanced level)

More information about the residence and registration options for all participating theatres can be found on the European Theatre Convention website.
