The Flying Dutchman sails into the State Opera with a new crew

The State Opera in Prague is hosting three performances of Richard Wagner's opera The Flying Dutchman during autumn: on September 23 and October 2 and 7.

The Orchestra of the State Opera is conducted by the experienced opera conductor Richard Hein, the German baritone Joachim Goltz, a member of the ensemble of the National Theatre in Mannheim, will sing the title role, the role of Senta is also performed by a German singer - Dorothea Herbert, well-known to the audiences of the Glyndebourne Festival or the Semper Opera in Dresden, the Slovak tenor Michal Lehotský takes up the role of Erik, Jana Sýkorová appears again as Mary, and Zdeněk Plech sings the role of Daland. The role of Daland's steersman is sung by Daniel Matoušek, a member of the ensemble, who, despite his youth, has already become a prominent figure on the Czech opera scene.
