Lectures for public, ballet workshops, ND Café, Kafka walks… and the iconic Swan Lake six times at the end of June. At the beginning of July you can enjoy two performances of Kafka: The Trial. Don’t miss this spectacular peak of the 2018/2019 season and welcome summer vacation in the Estates Theatre.

Come, have a drink and talk – this time with Valentina Shuklina and Jana Vrabcová, the Czech National Ballet pianists and Co-repetitors.
The special profession of ballet accompanist has always been tied classical ballet. “Live music” is an intrinsic part of ballet training and rehearsals both at the studio and on stage. Can a ballet accompanist influence the way dancers perform? How does it feel to accompany ballet dancers on the piano? Both ladies are great pianists, Valentina Shuklina is also a female conductor, one of the few.

Kafka: The Trial
On Tuesday June 18 we will see a new cast for this ballet for the very first time. There will be a guided Franz Kafka tour In the footsteps of Franz Kafka before the performance at 5.30 pm (the walk is free for those who go to see the evening performance) and a Lecture for public at 6.30 at the Estates Theatre, at Mozartův salonek. The walk begins and ends in front of the Estates Theatre building.

On July 1 and 2 we will say good bye to the season. There will be a guided Franz Kafka tour In the footsteps of Franz Kafka before the performance at 5.30 pm (the walk lasts about 45 minutes and is free for those who go to see the evening performance). The tour mapping Kafka´s life is organized in cooperation with Franz Kafka Society and begins and ends in front of the Estates Theatre building.

Swan Lake
At the end of June you will have the opportunity to admire six performances of this classical gem.
On Sunday June 23 and Wednesday June 26 there will be a Lecture for public at 6.30 pm before the performance in the foyer of the first balcony in the historical building of the National Theatre. You will enter the world of the Swan Lake production and learn interesting information.

On Saturday June 22 a favourite Swan Lake workshop will take place.
Together with our soloist Alina Nanu and demisoloist Patrik Holeček we will show you the difference between the white and the black swan, tell you more about the love of the Prince, his vow and betrayal. You will turn into swans and the Prince for a moment and see what adagio and fouettés are…
The workshop starts at 4 pm in the “Anenský areál” of the Czech National Ballet, Anenské náměstí 2, Prague 1.
It is recommended for adults and children 5+. Price: 180 CZK.
